AES+F will participate in the 5th Jeju Biennale, Iyahong: The Art of Metamorphosis, presenting the three-channel video installation Inverso Mundus at Art Space IAa.
Bringing together 69 artists and artist collectives from 21 countries, the Biennale unfolds across the Jeju Museum of Art, Jeju Stone Park and Jeju’s historic city center, tracing diverse stories of transformation. Taking its title from the refrain of a Jeju folk song, Iyahong: The Art of Metamorphosis explores processes of encounter, intermingling and rebirth across the island’s histories, natural environment and mythological traditions.
Inverso Mundus will be presented within Deities, a section that reinterprets the multilayered and inclusive mythology of Jeju—known as the “Island of 18,000 Deities”—through a contemporary lens.
