November 11th - December 21st, 2015 / Contemporary Art from Russia and Beyond presented in Berlin by MOMENTUM & NORDWIND Festival

An unholy cockup.
A magnificent orgy.
An impossible dream, Schlaraffenland, Lubberland, land of milk and honey, рай земной.
The visions and nightmares of charlatans and politicians.
The silent majority.
The manipulative minority.
A fairground booth or puppet show.
Commedia dell’Arte (strolling players, jugglers, clowns, pierrots, tricksters, young lovers, kissing and sobbing in the light of the moon).
Polichinelle, Kasper, Punch (and Judy), Karagöz, Petrushka, Grand Guignol.
Bread. Circuses.
Ghosts of history.
Chickens without heads. People the same.
Stupid, shitty wars….
Cash king, values broken.
Poverty grows fat, bodies implode with hunger.
Icecaps melt….
Clocks turn backwards.
(Situation Normal All Fucked Up).
Untrammelled, unaccountable power in a world gone mad….

Two bald men fighting over a comb….

NORDWIND is the interdisciplinary platform for the Nor- dic arts and culture and acts as a network, co-producer and discoverer. NORDWIND’s aim is to raise the profile of Nordic and Baltic artists, theatre and culture-makers in Germany and to introduce them to an international audience, to embrace and share new artistic impulses as well as to promote a European-wide exchange be- tween Germany and the Nordic and Baltic countries.

NORDWIND was founded as a biennial festival in 2006 and has continuously grown both structurally and financially. After primarily presenting itself as a discovery platform for the performing arts from the Nordic countries in past years, NORDWIND is now becoming more involved as co-producer, initiator and promoter. Independently of the festival, NORDWIND wants to act more and more as a partner and platform, to strengthen the network and to initiate a strong international exchange. The NORDWIND Festival, which will continue to take place every two years, will present the results of the platform and document the richness and innovativeness of the Nordic arts and culture.
