The next Rencontres Internationales in Berlin will be held from June 13-18, 2017, at the Haus der Kulturen der Welt, in free entry. It will offer, during 6 days, a space of discovery and reflection focused on new cinema and contemporary art.
Contemporary pictorial culture moves at the boundaries between aesthetic, social and political issues. In the process, the selectivity between documentary and fiction increasingly fades. The festival presents more than 100 new international productions by renowned artists, filmmakers and young talents, most of them premiering in Germany. Workshops, panels and talks pursue critical and forward-looking considerations of present-day practices in film and art. Curated by Natalie Hénon and Jean-François Rettig. With contributions from Claire Denis, Antoni Muntadas, AES+F, Salomé Lamas, Ubermorgen, Laure Prouvost, Lina Selander, Johan Grimonprez and others.
Entry is free but space is limited.
