IFSAK (Istanbul Photography and Cinema Amateurs Association) is a non-profit and non-governmental organization in Turkey, whose goals are to ensure photography and cinematography knowledge is disseminated, developed and delivered , to create connection and solidarity among people who are interested in photography and cinematography, to establish a cultural and an artistic environment where people can improve their skills and characters and to carry out photography and cinematography projects that are sensitive to social matters. IFSAK was established in 1959 and continues to work for 56 years. IFSAK has more than one thousand members, including leading photographers and cinematographers in Turkey.
The 24th IFSAK Istanbul Photography Days will be organized on 1-30 November 2016. The first one was held in 1985.
"Beginning from 2006 in every two years period the event try to focus the art lovers on different topics “City”, “ The Other”, “ Change /Tradition” ,“Memory and Truth”, “Introversion”.
Beginning from the start day this event has been growing and evolving constantly and has already hosted artists and intuitions such as Alex Webb, Paolo Pellegrin, Anders Petersen, Raghu Rai, Joachim Ladefoged, Pentti Sammalahti, Kent Klich, Antoine d’Agata, Susan Schwartzenberg, Stanley Green, Gueorgui Pinkhassov, Alexander Rodchenko, World Press Photo, Photography Center of Thessaloniki, Italian Federation of Photography Associations.
