"The title of the exhibition, its themes, atmosphere and partly even the methodology refer the viewer to the 2005 film of the same name by the Austrian director Michael Haneke. The film poses many difficult questions to us, but not in a didactic, illustrative or pretentious way, but exactly as they arise before us in life - woven into its fabric, leaving no time for reflection.
The project participants address the same spectrum of pain points in modern society as the director: relationships with the Other and fear of the Other, moral choice or unwillingness to make it, honesty with oneself and the ability to admit one’s own mistakes, shadows of the past lying on the present,” — curator of the exhibition “Hidden” Anna Zhurba @veter_v_volosah.
Participants: AES+F, Liza Bobkova, Evgeny Granilshchikov, Katya Isaeva, Andrey Kuzkin, Olesya Lavrinenko, Ivan Novikov, Mika Plutitskaya, Ruslan Polanin, Vladimir Potapov, Sergey Prokofiev, Igor Samolet, Chaim Sokol, Anastasia Tsayder.
The works presented at the exhibition "Hidden" cover almost 30 years of the history of Russian contemporary art, and many objects will be exhibited for the first time.
